Microsoft Teams - Send Email to Channel

Purpose – This document provides instructions on how to identify the email address associated with a Teams channel for the purpose of sending an email message directly to the channel. Commonly used by FBOs for communicating Passdown information to their respective Teams channels.

Scope – This document only covers the desktop and web versions of Teams as some of the steps are not available through the mobile version.

Send an email to a channel

To find the email address associated with a specific Teams channel:

• hover over the channel name, then select More channel options (...) > Get email address

• The address will appear within brackets following the Team name and channel
  • Example format: CHANNEL – TEAM <EMAIL ADDRESS>

NOTE: The email address does not appear on the Global Address List as a Mail Contact by default. This would require assistance from the IT Department through submitting a Helpdesk ticket.
