Add a shortcut to a website as an app
If there is a website that you frequently open (e.g., Outlook web mail) and want to keep separate from your other Chrome tabs, you can create a desktop shortcut for it to open as an app in Chrome.
- Open Chrome.
- Navigate to the website you want to add as an app.
- At the top right, click More .
- Click More Tools.
- Click Create shortcut.
- Enter a name for the shortcut, check Open as window, and click Create.
This will create both a desktop shortcut and a pinned taskbar shortcut and will open in its own window.
Note: some websites may use a generic Chrome icon for the created shortcuts.
