Windows – Unzipped Contents not Visible

Purpose – This article provides instructions on how to resolve the issue where the contents of a zipped file will sometimes not unzip properly and will not be visible upon opening the unzipped folder.

Scope – The steps within this article apply to both Windows 10 and Windows 11 versions.

Modify the File Explorer Options

Type “file explorer options” in the Windows search bar located on the bottom taskbar and click on the matching Control panel result; the File Explorer Options window will open.

Click on the View tab. In the Advanced settings area and under the Files and Folders section, select the option labeled “Launch folder windows in a separate process” and click on the Apply button, then the OK button.

Extract your zipped file again and confirm that the contents are now visible. If the issue persists, please submit a request for support through the Helpdesk Ticketing system.
