OneNote for Windows
- A default notebook is created when you first use OneNote.
- You can use this default notebook and add pages to it.
- Alternatively, you can create a new, blank notebook at any time.
To Open One Note:
- Click on the grid of the webmail on top left-hand side.
- Create New > (Blank Notebook)
- Create Notebook.
- OneNote switches to the new notebook, which contains a new section and a new, blank page.
Switch Notebooks
- Click the Show Notebook List button in the upper left.
- Select the notebook you want to switch to.

- If not visible, select More Notebooks.

Type or Write Notes
- Click or tap anywhere on the page to start typing.
- Click the page header to type a page title.
- Click elsewhere on the page to start a new note.
- Use a pen or stylus to handwrite notes on a touchscreen.

- To use your finger, go to the Draw tab, select a pen, choose an ink color, and start drawing.

Save Your Notes
- OneNote for Windows 10 automatically saves and syncs all changes.
- To undo recent changes, click the Undo button near the top left.
Select Text with Touch
- Double-tap the text you want to select.
- Drag the selection handles to adjust the beginning and end of the text.

- Once selected, you can cut, copy, format, move, or delete the text.

Format Text
- Select the text to format:

- With a mouse and keyboard: click and drag.
- On a touch device: double-tap a word and drag the selection handles.

- On the Home tab, choose the formatting options (font, size, bold, italic, underline, color, lists, indents, etc.).

- To undo formatting changes, click the Undo button near the top left.

Draw and Highlight Notes with Ink
- On the Draw tab, select the Pen or Highlighter.

- Click the arrow next to your selection to choose an ink color.
- For more colors, click More Colors.

- Adjust the thickness:
-
- Click the arrow next to your pen or highlighter.
- Use the + to increase thickness or – to decrease it.

- Draw or handwrite your notes on the screen.

- To erase, select the Eraser button and tap the strokes you want to remove.

Add tags!
- Click or tap any line of text.
- On the Home tab, choose a tag:

- To Do: Adds a check box.
- Down arrow next to To Do: Choose other tags (Important, Question, etc.).
- To Do tag is interactive; click to check/uncheck.

Add Links
- Select the text.
- Click Insert > Link.
- Change the text in the Text to display box if needed.
- Type the URL in the Address box and click Insert.

- Typing a URL automatically creates a link.

Insert a Picture (From a phone or tablet)
- From Camera:
- Tap where you want to insert a picture.
- Click Insert > Pictures > From Camera.
- Allow camera access if prompted.
- Tap the screen to take a picture.
- Click Insert All.
- From File:
- Tap where you want to insert a picture.
- Click Insert > Pictures > From File.
- Select the picture and tap Open.
- From Online:
- Click Insert > Pictures > From Online.
- Search and select the picture to insert.
Insert documents and files into notes!
To insert a document or file into OneNote:
- On any page, tap where you want to insert a document or file.
- On the Insert tab, click or tap File.
- Navigate the location of the file you want to insert, select it, and then click or tap Open.
Insert a Table
- Tap where you want to insert a table.
- Tap Insert > Table.

- OneNote creates a table with one row and two columns.

- Tap in the first cell and start typing.

- Press Tab to move to the next column or create a new one.
- Press Enter in the last cell to create a new row.

Add More Pages
- At the bottom of the page list, click + Page.

- If not visible, click the Show Notebooks button.

- Type a page title above the date and time stamp.

- Drag page titles to reorder them.

Add More Sections
- At the bottom of the sections list, click + Section.

- If not visible, click the Show Notebooks button.

- Type a name for the new section and press Enter.

- Drag section names to reorder them.

Print Notes
- Select the printer under Printer.
- Choose the number of copies under Copies.
- Select Portrait or Landscape under Orientation.
- Choose to print the Current Page, Current Section, or Current Notebook under Pages.
- To print to PDF, select Microsoft Print to PDF under Printer.
- Click More settings to select a page size under Paper and quality.
